Mr. Toad Trading Cards
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland and The Adventures of Mr. Toad are commemorated on trading cards that are the size of baseball cards.
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride 50th Anniversary
Disneyland's 50th anniversary was celebrated in a set of cards by Upper Deck in 2005. There are 65 cards in the base set, numbered 1-50 and 101-115. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, part of Fantasyland when Disneyland opened in 1955, is number DL-02.
The back of the card says, "J. Thaddeus Toad guides guests through the English countryside, while facing wild trials and tribulations on a journey to "Nowhere in Particular." The coat of arms, featured in Toad Hall, says it best: Toadi Acceleratio Semper Absurd "Speeding with Toad is always absurd." The Upper Deck copyright is 2005.
Upper Deck produced a series of Disney Heroes and Villians cards. The Disney Treasures series 3 (Winnie the Pooh), from 2004, includes 89 heroes and villians. (The complete base card set sells on eBay for about $20.) Cyril Proudbottom is one of the hero cards, number 195.
The back of the card shows Mr. Toad riding with his trusted steed, Cyril, and notes that Cyril made his first appearance in a Disney movie in 1949 (The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad). The text says, '"There could be no better companion for Toad than Cyril Proudbottom, his horse. This old nag shares Toad's love for wandering, a wanderlust that constantly drives the pair to see what is around the next corner. When Toad is arrested for car theft, Cyril testifies on his behalf." The Upper Deck copyright is 2004.
